You will
be pleased to learn that Arrigoni Wood Flooring has many advantages
over solid wood flooring. Our flooring can not only be re-sanded,
but actually gives you better end results; not only in the finished
product, but in money saved!
Let's face it, nobody likes warped/cupped floorboards!
Our layered construction has much greater stability over warping and
cupping than solid wood flooring. In our construction, the top and
bottom layers are made of the same type of wood, creating a condition
where similar forces are at play, working together to keep the board
straight. The middle layer (solid spruce) is laid transversely, reducing
swelling and shrinkage by roughly 80% (even in the challenging of
climates)!

Solid Wood Flooring:
Solid wood flooring (especially wider planks) with or without radiant
heat, warp/cup more over time. The re-finishing process requires a
heavy sanding just to get the floor to be
a flat surface again! This
type of maintenance requires sanding, disrupting your life with unnecessary
dust each and every time. The cost alone really adds up quickly over
the years! Because of the characteristics of warping the surface itself
becomes compromised, and begins to look less aesthetic.
Arrigoni Wood Flooring:
From 6" -16" widths, our planks stay flat - if installed correctly!
This allows for a successful refreshing or recoating at any time,
(without sanding, in most cases, because it is so durable).
Just the areas that are in need of attention can be slightly screened
and recoated. This process is dustless and inexpensive.. eliminating
the need for any unnecessary disruption or cost. If your floors get
to a point where they are in need of a complete sanding, this can
also be accomplished - up to three times, just like any conventional
solid wood floor!
This holds true even with floors with our hand scraped/hand distressed
finishes. Not only is refinishing these floors a non-issue, it actually
takes less time than refinishing conventional floors, saving you money.
Look at the following illustrations to further understand the benefits.
The question to ask yourself is, why wouldn't you choose Arrigoni?

You have
more installation options with our flooring than with solid wood flooring, making
it much more versatile to the uniqueness each project brings. |
| |
Floating
Installation (Recommended)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
>>
By gluing the floorboards tongue and groove fashion, the floor is
able to expand over its entire area. All three profile thicknesses
(15 mm, and 21mm) are generally suitable for floating installation.
This option allows us to install in unique areas like below grade
or on grade (with a specific moisture barrier provided by Arrigoni
Woods). |

Glue Down Installation (Recommended)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
>>
Wood floors have been glued and floated as alternatives to nail down
installation on all types of subfloors, including concrete and gypsum
based. Glued and floated installations offer a timesaving method without
the need for sleepers or a plywood subfloor. With the use of elastic
adhesives, this method of installation has much to offer.
Elastic Adhesive Benefits:
| 1. |
Impact
sound reduction, greatly reducing foot fall noise. |
| 2.
|
Eliminate
sleepers and plywood for gypsum or concrete installations. |
| 3.
|
Improves
room acoustics. |
| 4.
|
For
engineered flooring up to 16" wide. |
| 5.
|
Compatible
for use with in-floor radiant heat installations. |
| 6.
|
Low
adhesive consumption. |
| 7.
|
Great
for slight variations in subfloor. |
| 8.
|
Perfect
for large dimension projects - seamless floors. |
|
| |
Screwed
or Nail-Down Installation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
>>
Screw or Nail Down Installation can be done by request of Owner, Architect or Builder. |
| |
Full-surface
Gluing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
>>
Only recommended on special applications like: End-Cut Flooring and
other products with unique needs. |

There are many benefits in choosing to install Arrigoni Wood Flooring
over solid wood flooring, but this is especially true if you are planning
to install (or have existing) in-floor radiant heat.
Benefits:
| 1. |
Floating
or gluing installation methods may be used. |
| 2.
|
No
plywood sub-floor is needed, saving you $2-$4/sq.ft in sub-floor
material and labor. |
| 3.
|
Radiant
heat works more efficiently as these can be laid in a tighter
pattern and more gypcrete is used giving your floor a greater
heating/thermal mass. GREAT ACOUSTIC RESULTS!
